After growing up in a small town in Northwest Indiana, I set off to see what else there was to see.  Since then, I've lived in six states coast to coast and have traveled both near and far every chance I've gotten.  And I still have much more to see.

Over the years I have spent considerable time studying human behavior, motivation, and resiliency starting with a B.A. in psychology and political science in upstate New York.   Experience as a research assistant studying children with high-need backgrounds and a desire to complete a commitment of public service led me to join the Teach For America corps upon graduation.  Two years teaching Kindergarten developed patience, empathy, and greater understanding of others.  After leaving the classroom, I remained in education but transitioned to support staff in a development and then a marketing and communications capacity at KIPP, the largest national charter network serving high need students in urban and rural communities.

Feeling that it was time for a major shift in direction, I left education and Philadelphia to attend business school.  Pursuing my MBA at Chicago Booth allowed me the flexibility to focus on interests in technology, marketing, and entrepreneurship.  During this time, I took my first coding class (learning Ruby on Rails),  interned at HP, Inc. in Palo Alto, and spent an incredible exchange quarter abroad
at University of Cape Town in South Africa.

Currently, I am living in Seattle and leveraging my passion for problem solving and technology at Microsoft.  In my free time I enjoy hot yoga, hiking, and playing Ultimate Frisbee.  I also love travel and photography and am learning to play the guitar.
